Nintendo's upcoming Wiiâ„¢ MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remoteâ„¢ controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo's commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.

I really hope 3rd party devs had access to this before, especially for the Star Wars wii game. I think this will truly make the Wii what people "imagined" ever since they heard of the console. Although its another add on, I'm just glad its not a whole new controller and we don't have to totally replace a potential set of 4 controllers.

i doubt anyone is fuming over having to buy another add-on. most wii owners have already purchased more wii-remote add-ons than actual games. theyre used to it by now.

really, about time, tho. this will make the wii suck a little bit less.

I wonder how this affect games already made. And I'm getting hammered by add-ons. What if a game were to support the Wii Remote alone, Wiimote and Nunchuck, Cube Pad, Classic Pad, Wii Wheel, and this new addon? Wouldn't that cramp the controller compatibility iconset?

This pretty much. There is no other reason this would be released besides the fact that fans complain and Shiggy wont admit he's wrong, so *insert new wii-addon*.

I never had too much of a problem with the Wiimote's sensitivity. The only game I really used it was in MP3, in which it seemed nearly perfect for me and I didn't have any serious problems with it.

It was sort of annoying in DBZ Budokai 3 I guess. Overall though I haven't played many games that were too reliant on the motion-sensing or where it was a problem (the only exception being Wii Sports but that's more of a tech demo than an actual game).

i'm really going to have to disagree here.  if you feel like the wii-mote is clumsy, it's because you've probably been playing crappy games by lazy designers more than anything else (for example, the shitfest known as red steel).

in terms of first party nintendo games (galaxy, zelda, metroid, etc.), i've never had a problem with wii-mote sensitivity.
