Newbie scripting questions

ok i have rpg maker XP and i want to know

1: what are scripts  
2: how do i use them  :pissed:
3: how do i make a begining Movie right at the start of the game  :crazy:

im a real newb and i need help, all this script stuff is confusing the hell outa me  :dead:

This is the wrong forum, but a script is a code of RGSS, or "Ruby", the language that RMXP uses to make systems. You add them to your script library. I'm sure a 'starting RMXP' tutorial, in their forum, would be perfect to help.

• "Scripts" on this forum refers to code written in Ruby which are used to alter the functionality of the default RGSS systems.
  
• By using them you need to install them. Installation of scripts is covered in the RGSS/RGSS2 FAQ. Most however, come with other instructions on creating or adding additional content. And in those cases you would need to read the comments or the readme accompanying the script to use them.
  
• I wouldn't recommend attempting something like this. I would suggest maybe showing a few splash images and then the title screen. The "movie" script isn't everyone's cup of tea and is buggy to use. For the splash image intro though you need to search the Submitted Script Request. There are several out there.
