Definition of New Years Resolution: A resolution made for the new year.
Or if you actually have no clue what it means, it's a goal, or something you want to do next year.

People don't live up to their resolutions. I couldn't find a standing statistic, but my best guess is ~70% of people don't finish their goals for the new year.
This is because it's tough - something you probably already know. Making a goal and keeping it in the hectic modern life is not an easy task.
I personally cannot keep up a goal, routine, or anything of the sort for longer than a few days.
But there is hope!
Here are some suggestions to make a goal and keep it:

Here are some suggestions to make a goal and keep it:
- Write the goal down - in a journal, on a stickynote, or put it on your desktop; who cares? As long as you can see it all the time as a reminder
- Tell other people your goal - they'll nag you about it until you get it done. It's also alot easier to listen to someone else than to listen to yourself
- Set Limits - Put restrictions on things, or put the goal physically in front of what you normally do in your free time. It's really hard to do your goal because there is always an easy way to slack off and just skip around the goal for a while. You can put restrictions on your computer, but you always can just bypass them, since it's your pc and your password. It's a real mental thing. It's determination
- Put it into your schedule - if you're a real schedule-y person who plans their entire life out before they start, put your goal in there! Fit it in by taking out some free time, or cuttng out another activity that's unnecessary.
- Look ahead - When you're faced with the mental debate of "slack off or actually do it," dont let your lazy side get the best of you: look ahead to what the goal will get you. The reward, or whatnot
