Hi everyone,
My name is Dagarath(ya can call me dag, plz dont call me daga lol).
For the last few weeks I have been searching for a side project to work on because I am finding that working solely on an MMORPG as the only coder burns me out and really makes me an overall unhappy person. Through my searches I happened upon RPG Maker XP, and in the past I had simply passed off RPG Maker as a pseudo game creation kit, but this time I decided to take a long hard look at it and for the most part I really do like what I see. The engine has a few things the be desired, but overall it is still a good engine for making 2D RPG games and has MANY very large communities of people sharing their snippets.
Now after deciding I would use RPGMaker XP I got myself a copy and sat down to play with it, and so far I have gotten quite a bit out of it but I am still at the point where I can't really draw the lines between RGSS and python (they obviously have quite a different feel to them) but I am excited for the future as I get to add a new scripting language to my skillset.
The last thing I want to add is simply what project I will be working on. I am a big digimon fan, and have been a big fan of the DS games in particular (I know a lot of digimon fans prefer world 3 and 4, but not me heh). I like the spin on the pokemon type of game, but I have found that the games end far too quickly and just do not have enough flexibility, so I am going to attempt to create a more, at least in my eyes, complete Digimon experience.
Well that is all I have to say for my introduction, I will save the rest for the projects area of the forum.
