New Laptop

I recently bought a new laptop which is supposedly pretty good.
The problem I'm having however is that it seems that it's using the wrong videocard.

As you can see, I've got an intel one and an Nvidia one, and I'm guessing I should be using the Nvidia one.
When I open my Dxdiag however I can see that I'm apparently using the intel one:

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
DAC type: Internal
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_C0A5144D&REV_09
Display Memory: 2741 MB
Dedicated Memory: 993 MB
Shared Memory: 1748 MB

Now, I'm no expert on this but it seems that the "Dedicated memory" is way too low?
I'm not even sure if this is a problem since I played some Anno 1404 with the graphics on highest and it seemed to run fine (I only tried for like a minute though) but it can't hurt to ask for some advice.
Minecraft on the other hand runs at 15 fps for some reason and I'm wondering if it has something to do with this. (even though that's more cpu intensive rather than graphic intensive.)

Any tips would be appreciated.
