- Battle screen shots released for the first time.
- Movement scenes and battle scenes take place on the same screens seamlessly.
- Combat is real-time.
- You move characters with the stylus.
- Characters fight based on preset conditions automatically (GAMBIT).
- The concept is "showcasing a large cast of characters".
- Battles resemble Seiken DS.
- Characters are small so combat can look confusing.
- Summon beasts and big monsters like Ring Wyrms are 2-3 times the size of player characters.
- You can flank monsters by simply sliding the stylus.
- Gambits and Mistknacks (Mist Quickenings) are expanded.
 
Looks interesting actually. I like the FFTA style drawings and characters. I still wish Penelo would change her blonde pippy long stocking pigtails though :-/

Also, besides Vaan and Penelo, do I see Basch in the party...with a NORMAL outfit?!?!?! :O
 
I think after FFIII's graphical display and achievement the 2D is a step backward. But the game looks good. Still haven't player XII yet, getting it for Christmas, so.

There's nothing wrong with 2D characters at all. Think about it, FFXII's characters as ugly, jagged 3D models which MAY resemble the previous games incarnation
 
Vaan, Panelo, Fran, and Balthier are the only FF12 characters that join your party in FF12:RW (according to an interview I read). Basch may show up as a guest party member.

The GAMBIT system is toned down, so it's less complex (in otherwords, less good.) and there is more focus on using Espers in combat.

They also talked about the DS's WiFi capabilities, and are considering allowing WiFi combat but are facing a very large lag issue which, unless it can be fixed, will hinder the WiFi uses in FF12:RW.

On the PS2, the models were beatiful. But with the DS, you have less the capable equipment to work with. If it WAS on par with the PS2, don't you think the FF3 models would look better?



Anyways, why does this seem like some sorta RTS game? :-/
