(Never mind! Fixed it!) Advanced Eventing Help

Okay, fellow eventers. I've been assigned a task that no one in my design team has been able to pull off, and I've come pretty far. However, I'm not arrogent enough to think I can do it alone.

What I need is a way to temporarily override the default controls.

What's been requested of me is sort of a secondary ABS. The game already has a battle system, but what I've been asked to do is like... just fighting on the map. Well, I already knew it was going to be difficult considering there's no way to detect player location relative to another event, but I sort of found a way around it.

When I say 'sort of', I mean I have a theory, and it involves setting up control overrides while a certain switch is on. What I mean is, if the player presses the left arrow key, their character doesn't move left. Instead, a common event is called to make their character 'dodge' instead. The same goes for the action button. I want them to attack, not restart the event process.

...I really hope that makes sense. Does anyone know if there is a way to make an event command take priority over the default control settings?
