Glossary
Transfer: A process which transfers a persons mind onto the internet, imprisoned in a virtual world where they can do anything they want to. This leaves them completely dependant and vulnerable in the real world and they are completely sustained by Pals and life support machines.
Dwyrild: A once popular MMO whose popularity has declined rapidly in recent years thanks to the introduction of higher resolution, better equipped, and better thought out realities. These alternate realities include ‘Revelations!’ - A post-apocalyptic world of North Stars and bikers, or Space Miner, where you play a (surprise surprise) space miner.
3565 Split: As life continued with abandon on Earth, there seemed to be a split developing between the Belle and the Real. As the Belle continued to mate with each other and not the Real, a gradual split emerged across the human genome that basically split homo sapiens sapiens into homo sapiens sapiens major and homo sapiens sapiens minor. The names ‘Belle’ and ‘Real’ were dropped and in their favour were ‘subhumans’ and ‘prohumans’, though they are usually interchangeable. The 3565 split was when scientists and politicians agreed that the gap between belles and real’s was such that they could be defined as separate species.
Pal: A pal is a subhuman captured and trained to operate the systems needed to keep Transferred Prohumans alive and well. After the 3565 Split, subhumans were denied basic human rights and could be captured and trained. They are branded by corporations for life.

Mark Sanders/ Falkirk
A man who chose to Transfer to Dwyrild (dew-yi-rild), but during the transfer an accident occurred. Thanks to a cheap, malfunctioning life support machine and a barely sentient Pal his brain was denied of oxygen for long enough completely eradicate his episodic memory, essentially giving him amnesia. As such, though he exists in a MMO, he wakes and believes himself to really live there.
Pal/Class D12#13245, ‘Dewy’
Dewy was bought very cheaply, as the D12 class is notorious for not following its conditioning. However, Dewy is also very stupid and does not have much of a mind for revolution. He can hardly speak, can just about clothe himself when asked, and comes to his master’s heel when he is hollered as he may be fed. The years of tending to Mark without any sapien contact have turned him slightly mad.
Story
Mark is existing in Dwyrild. He can’t exist as much more than a scab, working odd jobs for people when they come up, but he enjoys the work and the simple lifestyle. His life changes forever one beautiful Friday evening, when his reality is shut down. Bodyworks, the mega corporation that runs Dwryild, has found that subscription has fallen to an all-time low and so has shut it down, instead focusing itself on other projects. Mark awakes fat and attached to a life support. His goal in the game is to enter Bodyworks deepest facilities and turn the servers back on before Dwryild is removed from their hard drive. Along the way he will encounter a renegade group of geeks who also want to return Dwryild to normal – what Mark doesn’t immediately find out, of course, is that this is the twelfth MMO they have failed to return...
I'm unsure as to how I can flesh this story out from here. It wouldn't be a long RPG, more like a summer project. Maybe a point and click adventure type thing. In any case, any ideas or c&c would be appreciated.
