Just wondering who remembers the good old days of Neopets?

Back until about 2003 I used to play it every day. I never cheated or anything, managed to get 250,000 Neopoints legitimately... wasted them all on paintbrushes thinking their value would raise (heh).

I had whatever the wolf was because it was the only one that looked like a real animal instead of a my little pony.

I understand it's gone all advertising mad now and shit, but back when it just started it was kinda cool.

I used to do a run of dubloon disaster, meerka chase, (1000 np each * 3), and then the free ommelette and jelly

I could never play the minigames because back then I was on dial-up and I just didn't have that sort of patience.

I just tried playing it again; they set neopoint caps on games. That's completely gay :|

Believe it or not, my gammaking interests started with Neopets. I used to be crazy about this one game-- Hannah and the Pirate Caves-- and would spend hours with its map editor making my own levels. The best part was, these levels exploited the glitches of the game (including floating on the ground, ducking and jumping to avoid spikes, etc). I had loads of fun messing around with that and made this one level so difficult (yet still possible) that even I couldn't beat in one run through.

I used to make multiple accounts to sell the map pieces they give you at the beginning on my main account. I would then invest that money in the NeoPet stock market, where I made so many NeoPoints. I had a multitude of banned accounts from report-happy people. The giant Blood Bar war on the "seen something scary" board was started by me.

god I wish I had fast internet back then. So many memories.... not really. I remember I had a dragon neopet, that was cool

It sucks now there's a cap on neopoints from games. I could get 5000+ in dubloon disaster, but might as well just get like 200 because can only scavenge 1000 neopoints from it three times a day.

I played for a week or so when I was 12. I didn't know how the hell to play it though and then I registered on Runescape. The rest is history~~

I believe I had a pet that looked like a cat and a dog-ish thing. It was decent, but I didn't know how to play at all ;-;

I used to play, that dice-aroo game, it got canceled probably not coincidentally that it got deleted after I beat it and got a few million neopoints heh, I didn't cheat, it took me forever and I was around 8, it was fun, and I put all my neopoints in the bank and got about 200 points everyday of interest... Then I lost the password. It's sad that they went add crazy, it was a fun online game. Favourite neopet was the kiko :cheers:

but eventually I wondered why I was feeding fake animals when they didn't die or anything like that

kind of feel sorry for kids who are into it now, because apparently they're hardcore into trading real money for inconsequential things much like gaiaonline

except I guess neopets has less people having internet sex
