Need Opinion - Spriters Help!

aww it's so cute!

I think it's hair looks a bit off, try and use more breezy like hair and then also Idk about the sideviews head it seems to me that it  got fater then fronts views head.

Good job!

Hmm, not bad.
If possible, could you use the new tags? They make it much easier to critique pixel art.
So far, though, all that's really striking me is the fact you haven't shaded under the hair.

For me, there's kind of a disconnect between how narrow the head is from the front or back, and how wide it is from the side.  I'm not sure what to suggest, though-- it might be just me.

I just follow the sprite template that I used the way it is, so the head being odd shaped is not on my end. Thou I tend to agree. Also I didn't aim for it to be cloud strife. My original concept was ryu from breath of fire 2 with some modification, then I found a post on the forums for samurai resources and it and what I have on paper looked kinda the same.

Oh yeah me too. If you haven't already plug it into XP and try it out. Incase you are wondering the original character was mega man, I believe from one of the network games not sure because I never played it. Overall I like it. I had to make it a bit more taller to fit right with what I have going.

I put it into a game and the character looks as if it's ice-skating. The many animations do not go well with how the character moves.

To be honest I'd rather not comment on that second template.

As for the origional sprite I really like the style. Widen the head a cople of pixles on each side for the front and back and this would look sweet. Remember you do not need to keep to the boundries of a template.

Also one mistake almost every (*cough*other*cough*) spriter seems to make is that shoes are never pointed straight forward at the camera/screen. Angle them down and out from the body a bit.

Yeah I tried to fix it as best I could. Over it's not that bad. I personally only thing the walk towards point of view is the only one that makes me think he is skating the others I do not notice it. I have no clue how to fix it thou.

The arm on the left (his right) looks twisted?

Anyway try moving it closer to the body (as stated earlier a post 2 ago) and it will remove that ice skating apearance. :thumb:

Whooo the feet stick out this time round!
