Need help to make a skill with common event

I want to make a skill that before the animation start the screen or battleback change into dark ( This will make easy to see animation and more interesting ) then after the animation finished it change become nomal ( Ex: Utima magic in FF6 ). But I can't do it, anyone can help me please.
 
If it's XP, then the screen tinting will happen after the entire attack happens, which I gather isn't what BEWD wants.

Let's see.  An easy solution:  Common event: darken screen, show animation (all enemies), inflict damage (all enemies), wait, lighten screen again. 

Or you could do some variation like CE:  Darken screen, force action (immediate), wait, lighten screen.  But if you do that, make sure that the action that you force isn't one that calls the same common event.  You could always create the "Boom" part of the skill and have the CE teach the caster that skill, make them use it with Force Action, and then immediately forget it, if you liked.
 
Thank you very much. It is really helpful. And I only have one problem. I want to make darken behind the actor and enemy not the screen ( sorry I didn't say clearly ) I try using "change screen color tone" but It isn't what I want. I think use "change map setting" is good to change battle back but I can't return it to normal ( because a skill can use anywhere ). Can you help me again, thanks.
