make those a bit smaller

second, what program are you using, these sound more midi than 8bit aside from the drums, and they also sound like you imported a midi into another program and put vst's on them, i used to do that when i would cut up and remix nintendo songs. they just have that sound to them, with the pitch bends and stuff, they dont sound like nintendo, gameboy, etc pitch bends. the lead sounds the least 8bit to me (in the pantera one)

i would recommend magical8bit, its a vsti that puts out pretty authentic sound. theres a few other little neat plugins i have too, some of whch i forget where i downloaded so if you want them i can just email them to you or something, theyre like 200k files, like a vibrato effect plugin thats super tiny and simple

my advise to you is to remix a nintendo song, and try to make it sound authentic because (at least the pantera one, i dont wanna DL all 3 40 mb files) was too "fake 8-bit" sounding at least for my taste

Alright, and I am using Gashisoft GXSCC. But I'll look up magical 8bit. And I really didn't like the pantera one as much anyway. I'd much rather listen to the original, because it's an awesome song.

what program are you using to write songs in? cause magical8bit is just a vst plugin for a music composing program like fruity loops, ableton, etc

I'm using power tab, it's pretty good for my purposes.

And to modify the midis, I use Synthfont. It works with VST Instruments, and soundfonts.

Maybe you can look for Famitracker.
i love you

if you're using powertab, i'm inclined to believe you just downloaded a tab, and stuck different instruments into the already-sequenced midi tracks. :l

Nah, I would've done that, if I could get a good sound. I use power tab to transcribe the music, and possibly download a tab if I can't figure out the song. Then I use synthfont to modify the panning, volume and delete unused tracks(power tab automatically makes 2 for each instrument), and then mix them in GXSCC. The presets I use in GXSCC are:
Output device: Microsoft Sound Mapper
Drumset: Gashisoft PSG Drum
Instrument set: Famicom-like set
