My RPg maker xp doesnt work on vista even when I do the compatability

I've tried the compatibility thing with windows vista, the xp thing, and it still says something like "error,  rpg maker xp has stopped running" so, what am I doing wrong? I dont understand. if anyone can help, please, i dont have windows xp anymore and i really want to finish my project

It's not a compatibility issue because I use vista premium home, and it works on mine.

Check the updates site for Vista compatibility and security updates, install them and reboot, that should fix your RMXP issue

I have updates downloaded everyday, and i just got the computer, so why isn't it working? it just shows error stopped running properly and shuts down. Do i need a certain update?

Run your system so you are the Admin account, and if you already are, try right clicking on the .exe file and click Run As Administrator.

I've done that, i changed compatability, I am the admin and i run as admin, so why does it still say there is was an error?

Also the same thing happened to mine and i was furious lol. Try reinstalling it if that doesn't work. Also if that didnt work but do you have any sort of program that cleans the registry, or cleans up the computer? I know it sounds like a dumb question but it is serious.

if you have newish stuff it should work without fiddling thing it.

do you have postality knights? ive heard that it wont work at all, which is good, because its illegal.
