My phone is gay !

Jason

Awesome Bro

Okay, so for the last week, my phone, which is a Sony Ericsson C902, has been acting up, I haven't been able to recieve texts or calls from anyone, it's been losing charge really quick (It went from 31% to 4% in a matter of two hours...), and when I charge it, after 2 minutes or so, I get a message saying;

"Serious error. Stop charging. Stop using your phone and contact a Sony Ericsson Call Center."

Now, this is odd since it's never done it for me before, and to be honest, it's both annoying and gay...

I found this website where someone had the problem, but managed to fix it themselves;
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... n%26sa%3DG

However, they said to reinstall the new software, I've found what software version mine is (R3EA031), but I have NO idea how to reinstall it, or what happens, infact... I didn't even know WHAT software I had or how to even find out until today after looking on another site...

Has anyone had this problem before, been able to fix it, offer me some help, win a pack of oreos ?

Cheers.

My sister has had the same problem with the same phone and was told it was "out of warranty" so she had to buy a new one. It's a common problem apparently :/

... So you're telling me... I have to buy a new phone o.O

Well it's on contract with T-Mobile, I've had it about a year now... yeah, it was October 1st when I got it, on an 18 month plan...

I wonder if they'll be able to send me a new one, although I HIGHLY doubt it... sucks to be honest.

If you can connect it to your computer (most phones can do this with a simple cable that usually plugs in the same place the charger cable does), then you can update the phone's firmware. I'd recommend finding out if you can connect your phone, and, if you can, to guy out and buy the appropriate cable. Then, you have to find the appropriate firmware update, and use it.

Aw, I was hoping to see pics of hawt phone-on-phone action...

Have you tried taking into a T-Mobile store? Maybe if you are armed with the software that you think needs to be installed, and you can't do it yourself, they'll have some special hardware that will let them do it easier?

Well I couldn't be arsed figuring it out since the software version meant nothing to me, couldn't find one that matched, and they had all different versions too, so I took it into a T-Mobile store this morning, and they said it'll take... TEN BLOODY DAYS to get it sent back to me, what the fuck are they doing ?!

They gave me a shitty Motorola with a black and white screen, midi tunes, no camera or anything, to use until I get it back, so as soon as I got in the house I threw it somewhere in the corner, and got my old phone out, Sony Ericsson K810i :biggrin:

I don't know if they're going to want that crummy thing back, but you might want to keep track of it. And couldn't you have mentioned to them you had a spare you could use, so they wouldn't have given you that crummy one?
