My Oekaki Art

Hey all I've been trying a new simplistic style of artwork. I thought it was caleld just Pixel ARt but I learned its called Oekaki. Its sort of cartoon like and I enjoy it. I think its pretty good (by my standards) but to you guys itll probably burn your eyes out. I enjoy advice and tips and I'll try to constantly improve my style.

By the way I use the palletes from http://www.colormagix.org it is a very useful site for palletes even though it does have a slighty limited selection.

Anyways on with the artwork.

This is the guy that started it all. He is my first attempt at this style and I had fun spending 2hrs. making him.

I call them Onion-O, MushBANG, and Slimeball.

Meh I figured I'd try some shadows and scenery with the guy who started it all and I think it's allright although it could be better I guess.

Thats all for now.

And people I know most of you can look at this and say wow this guy sucks and I realize that I'm not exactlly cut out for artwork like this and people like Green Raven could do so much better but I'm proud of my artwork and its a very fun hobby for me. So just don't post WOW YOU SUCK!!! or stuff like that. Advice and comments are welcome and wanted just dont flame me.

Thanks for browsing. ~Lex~

um... I really don't like any of them. Shading is bad... Anatamy is bad... But the colors are great...

A few tips:

~Don't make the feet come directly to the left or right...
~If you do at least make the character look confused while trying to walk with his feet in an awkward position.
~I would suggest sketching the picture before actually "oekaki"ing it. Like sketch something with green and make the final product with black...
~I would suggest looking at some pros at anatomy's work to make your characters look real or at least better... Look at

Well thanks for the tips but I don't think my artwork will ever look anything remotely close to those below. I 'll work on the feet but they aren't intended to look real I' m going for a cartoony look here which is really all im slightly good at.

And most of those are done with much better programs like photoshop or others correct. Mine are done with like 4 tools in paint.

And I can't take credit for the colors those belong to http://www.colormagix.org

Thanks for the advice I'll work on them as I go along just don't expect major changes.
