My first icons. Looking for critiques!

Well I just glanced at the icon tutorial, and realized that I was dreading making my icons for no reason.  I actually really enjoy making them.  These are the very first I've made, and I did a few recolors of my better ones just to play around.  They're mostly swords because I wanted to work into more difficult things.  They're quite easy though.

Leave me some feed back though, please.  Also, I think the bow looks wierd, and some of the swords look like they're too detailed for a 24pixel image.  Any advice?

Yes, the second through 4th ones are "dragon swords."  Also, any suggestions on how to make my bows look different, but better?

If I get good feedback, I might start a topic for requests.  I really did enjoy making these.  Maybe spriting wouldn't be too bad either.  :huh:

I don't think they look bad at all...well, at least much better than anything I could ever do. *dreading making icons for the mmorpg she's creating* <.<

Well I actually really enjoyed making those.  What kind of icons do you need for your game, I_Love?

Hmmm...it's a .Hack based game, but I'd like to have little icons for things within the inventory and such, like weapons, armour, scrolls, etc. I'm really shooting into the dark here with not enough of a team to back me up on the project, but we're slowly recruiting more capable people, thank god, to relieve me from some of the spriting work (cause I'm soloing right now ^^ ). Plus, I'll have to have animated weapons for characters to hold and swing and all of that...it's gonna be a real workout (and hand cramp!). Even so, that's besides the point. Your stuff looks amazing. What kind of game are you making with these icons in them?

Wow, Mikee, these look pretty good, Umm, my only complaint would be that they look too gradient-based ... Besides that, I'm starting to wonder why you'd need my services ... LOL

Yeah... well, I tried doing a sprite and that's when I just assumed that I'd be horrible at icons also.  But I guess I can cancel my order from you now. : )  Thanks anyway! lol

Oh, Clizzz, what do you mean by too gradient-based?  I know three of them look very blurry.  And the first one, I did use a gradient on.  Though I won't do that anymore.  I don't really like the blurry look.  But I was still just kind of experimenting.  I'm going to try one more, and a scroll for I_Love, and if I end up with something nice, then I'll open a new topic for requests.

Aaah!  What do you mean by too gradient?  I can probably fix it if you tell me what you mean.

Looks like a pencil Mark! thats what it means. Shading is to dark.

I'm only asking for opinions, and I already said that if I got enough good ones then I'd start a request thread.  I was only looking for ideas when I asked I_Love what kind of icons she was going to use.  So I decided that I could try a scroll out to see if I could do it.  And I figured, why let it go to waste?  That's all.  I'm starting a new thread in just a minute. No need to report.  Sorry.

Alright, so maybe lighter color for the blades?  So you can see more definition?  Would that help?
