My Breeze Sprites -CURRENTLY ONLY ONE; AND IT's A WORK IN P

Okay!  I just got the urge to sprite, and I decided to go with an easy, simple, FUN template.  I did a bit of digging, and decided to use Breeze, because it was just so damn adorable.  As many of you know, I am an insufurable Narutard, so my first thought was;  NARUTO!  I noticed on the Breeze Revelution page that there was a Naruto sprite from regular Naruto.  I then went to Google and got a base picture of Naruto from Naruto Shippuden, and started spriting.  Since it's really late, and I have school tomorrow, I decided just to post what I had;  This is my first Breeze WIP!

Please give any suggestions on how to fix the hair, and any other problems with it.  I had the most trouble on that, and I would really love suggestions on how to fix it, because I plan on using Breeze alot, and if I know how to improve this little guy's hair, then I might be able to become a slightly succesful Breeze spriter!

P.S.

Also, could you tell me how to shade?  I have no damn idea how the hell to shade!  I'm absolutley postivly terrible at shading!  Thanks!

OK, here goes.

1) Shade under the hair/headband. Sorely lacking.
2) Shade ...everything else, really. Take a look at some other sprites for ideas, and practice, practice practice. I'd also recommend joining the Pixel Academy, whenever it resurfaces. Alternatively, look through Tutorials for good tips. If you're patient, I'll show you a few things, as well. But learn some basics first.
3) Learn color theory. I'd recommend using premade palettes for now. As is, your color choices are horrible. Insert Simon Cowell, distilled to pure cynicism, for a good accompaniment to this phrase.
4) ...tell you how to shade? I'm sorry, but no. *zoink* Hear that? That was the sound of my soul dying inside. Hear that? My soul.
5) Don't start from scratch yet, bud. First, learn to recolor and frankensprite. Then, maybe, you'll have some idea of what to do.

Oh dear. I was giving you constructive criticism. I'm just in a fairly asshole mood right now. And still, tough love, eh?
But if you won't take criticism, then meh... I'm outta here.

He was pointing out the irony of you flaming me for not being a sugar fairy from Gumdrop-land. Unprovokedly, I might add.

Ugh.
Look.
When you really are going to start something, the first frame, is always going to be the hardest.
You need to look at sprites of all forms in general. God, it is irritating me seeing people treat breeze like this. Absolutely, THRASHING it.

First off, learn to shade. Do the pixel academy, its there for that reason...
Second, You DO need to start with stuff more basic, i've said this thousands upon thousands of times on this forum, spriting is like becoming a rockstar, you can't even begin to "make" music with a guitar without learning scales, spriting is the same way, start with edits, recolors, and frankenspriting. Once you get good at it and have plenty of well rounded practice, step it up with experimental spriting.
Third, take constructive criticism the correct way, jesus we are only trying to help you. If you can't take brutal honesty with a mixture of sarcasm, you don't need to ask for help, cause everyone has a way of saying how to help without it being all "Oh sweetie, all you need to do is this, this, and change that thing there and it will look as fanciful as a unicorn!" Take it to heart where it counts, not personal.

With that said, please keep trying, but fix what you have I am really getting irritated with people using breeze and making it look like crap, if you want your stuff there on our site you are going to have to try, listen to people more experienced, and actually attempt to get better. That is also a reason I don't add peoples names on BR any more unless they show an actual effort, i'm so sick of seeing effortless work.

Do you think I'm fucking stupid?

Way to go, hi122neo. I'm locking this, as you obviously aren't able to accept criticism, even when you asked for it. This topic is just a waste of our time, if you're going to flame members who are trying to help you.

Don't bother posting another topic unless you get an ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT.

That's right. I said "attitude adjustment".
