My Base (Naruto) First Try

baselmostdone.png

This is my first attempt at doing pixel art, and I think it turned out quite well. But I really don't think I'll be able to make the sideview or the walking animations (I'm not a spriter, I'm a programmer, haha). Anyways if you're out there and think you're capable, if you could finish this base off like doing the walking animation for me I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Also, here is a little bit I added on to it.

I drew the akatsuki robe and the sandals and Yondaime's hair and put it all together. I think it's super cute. Haha but whatever.

If you're a spriter and have any interest at all in a Naruto project please let me know! I'm a C# programmer working with XNA on an ORPG engine and I'm in dire need of graphics help in any way, sprites or GUI's and HUD's and menu's etc. I have a few spriters but they're busy and not that active right now, and they aren't necesarily good with anatomy and I'm not sure how capable they'd be of making the walking animations for this (They're mainly good at drawing clothes and hair and buildings).

Fixed it up a little bit, drew a rough sideview...

Need some criticism... and maybe help! :P (didn't make the sideview white yet, getting there)

Hey, the color's getting better and your human sprite might be yelled as a "paper cutout". Perihelion here might more likely say "define some musculature" on your human sprite.

A really quick re-shade and palette swap. Should give you an idea of how to do it.
The light source can really be anywhere, usually people use up-left, directly up or up-left, the way you did it, using pillowshading,
makes it seem like the light source is directly in front, and generally makes it look bad.

You should animate the template first, before worrying too much about other stuff. A template is meant as a "rough guideline" So if the animations are smooth, then you shouldn't have much of a problem. People tend to get caught up on a body that will be covered with clothes. You have the general form there......animate it, then work out the shading. that's my advice to you.
