"Mushroom" Kingdom Hearts

Welp I was flipping through the pages of EGM when I spotted this nice little article about the supposed upcoming Kingdom Hearts game for the Wii entitled, "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts" . Now I've never known EGM as a credible source for gaming information, and I'm pretty sure this is a hoax, (also being so close to April Fools Day, and EGM is known to annually pull off pranks) but I'd like to see what everyone might think of this matter... why would/could this work, or why not? Apparently, according to EGM magazine, MKH boasts 41 (4-1= April 1) new nintendo characters, and there's apparently a whole lotta' Nintendo worlds to visit. Like I said, this is most likely a hoax, but the idea's interesting... Thoughts?

Yep, I clearly remember that, the idea's not bad either actually. I dunno about anyone else, but I think the concept of Mario in KH could work, and I for one would play it lol.

Well, the whole idea of KH is to fuse together the world's most popular games/movies. That Mario would eventually be included is no surprise, seeing as how he's even older than Final Fantasy (FF is 20 years old, and Mario, who made his first debut in the original Donkey Kong, is 25).

Personally, if they DO come out with MKH, I would buy a Wii just to play it. Square isn't the world's richest game company for nothing; I'm sure it'll be a masterpiece just like the other three KH's.

BESIDES, can't you imagine?! Wielding two keyblades in Final Form with Wii Remotes, OMG!!!!!

That may be so, but the concept is still very valid, I've made this discussion to see what people thought as to whether or not it would work and why, orwhy it wouldn't work and why not...

Last thing we need is for Tetsuya Nomura to cover Mario in zippers. I hope the idea doesn't get realized the same way Kingdom Hearts was. If they ever do a crossover for any crazy reason, Nintendo better be the one in charge of it.
If they managed to make a good game of it, whatev'... I mean, SquareEnix has surprised me before. *Goes back to playing Mario Hoops 3 on 3*
Also, Square isn't the world's biggest game company, EA is.

I agree, I think nintendo would have to take over if the idea was actually realized. I think that it would be quite interesting to visit various nintendo worlds. Imagining Sora, Goofy and Donald as pokemon trainers makes me laugh my ass off.

I think it would be a good idea, But no.... Don't think it would work. But I don't know. To me Mario is just the italian version of mickey. (Mickey & Minnie = Mario & Peach)(Donald & Daisy = Luigi and Daisy) so... that's why I think it wouldn't work.

that would be badass! imagine if the batle systm consisted of something similar to red steel, where your weapons mimic the movements of the wiimote. the fighting styles would be almost endless. and i can definitely see a few mushroom kingdom, nintendo themed keyblades. ::goes of to draw triforce themed keyblade, then start a fanart thread on keyblades.::

Pretty much impossible to actually do something like that outside of a fan game. Liscensing costs, as well as getting all those companies to see eye to eye would be a nightmare. Then you have to put all those characters in a game that has a style and gameplay that synergyzes with the characters well, and then make a story that involves them all.

You can keep dreaming, but it will never happen. The liscensing costs alone kill the idea. The rest are worms in the corpse.
