Moving sunbeam and cloud fogs

Hello everyone

I was searching the forums for a tutorial on fogs (specifically moving clouds and sunbeams), but I wasn't able to find any.  I did notice that people recommended a sunbeam tutorial by ccoa, but I can't seem to get to it.  If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks!

Well, I dont know if you're using RpgXp but if you are then this should help.
I'm gathering by your question you want moving fog graphics?

Set an event somewhere on your map that isn't going to be in the way and just simply doesnt matter.

Chose the "Map Settings" Event command. (which is on page 2 :P)

Set the "Fog Graphic" to your prefered style. Say for instants, Fog 1.

Now on the right side of your screen should be a range of options
e.g

opacity, blending etc.

thw two that you are looking for are SX and SY, basically  X and Y axis movement.
To flow the fog in a realistic manner, it's best the set them at numbers at around -3 to 3.
If you know your axis directions then this shouldn't be a problem for you. if not give me a reply =]

Hope this helps.

Edit: I later realized that you might be asking how to make the moving sunbeam pictures rather than animating them; my bad.

As for moving sunbeams, I assume you are doing them by pictures - Simply have a few different sun beam pictures that fades into one another.

E.g. Use 2 picture slots, first show the first one, use Move Picture command to lower its opacity to 0 and at the same time show the second one at 0, and use Move Picture command to up its opacity to the beam opacity.

Repeat this for the currently shown sunbeam picture, and make sure to set it up right at the end to loop to the first sun beam picture again (in the same picture slot).
[Don't forget to put in the appropriate wait frames in between to match with the fading speed!]
