Moving Platforms with Events?

I was wondering if it was a possibility to make a platform, save for example if you recall the game Frogger where the logs and lillypads floated down the stream. Is it possible to recreate such a feature with RMXP through events?

I have experimented for a while with it but cannot think of a way to get it to work myself, but maybe some of you fine folk may know?

Also, if it is unable to be done with events I would settle for a script if there is one available. (The one I had found on the forum so far had many issues where save games were not working etc.)

I look forward to hearing any solutions!

I'm not entirely sure if this will work. But it might work in theory.

First have an event that moves down stream. lets say a leaf. And it has through on set to on it so you can walk onto it.

Now we all know if that event keeps moving down stream the player won't go with it. BUT. If you have the leaf event set as a parallel process you can either move the player at the same time you move the leaf or you can set two variables to equal the coordinates of the leaf map x and map y and transfer player without changing his direction or fading to that location everytime until the player has walked off the leaf onto another leaf or safe ground

There's a problem with this, I'm not sure the cause but if you have two events running in at the same speed both moving in the same direction, they seperate by about a couple of pixels per second, so by the time they get to the other side of the crevace they are a tile apart.

Someone did this with a script but it's in with hundreds of other unnecessary scripts.

Thanks a lot for the help! As it stands right now, I believe all the mirrors for the script that was linked it currently down and the creator is off on wild adventures in the IRL realm; a shame!

But I checked out your demo Star, and you're right, it really is quite a handful!

I'll poke around with it and see if I can get the hang of it (Variables are something that still to this day confuse me a decent amount)

Cheers!
