Moving Fire

I can not seem to get a fire working right. I am trying to make an animated fire but it is not working. I go to custom but do not know how to set it up. (always goes like 500 mph)

On the event, check the box next to "Stop animation". This is assuming that you are using the RTP fire character set.

I'd also recommend setting the opacity to semi-transparent accordingly, though that might be a matter of personal preference.

No, I am not using the RTP fire.

When I set up the fire with a change graphic, wait -- frames, change graphic it moves about 500 mph. So I put it on slowest speed and still moves that fast. For some reason it is glitchy and wont fix.

A frame is 1/20th of a second, so you might not be putting enough frames. If you want it to change every 3 seconds, you'll have to use 60 frames.

Can you type the exact commands you're using for the event?

Do this:
Between every change graphic, put in a wait of 20-40 frames.  See how that works.  Too slow?  Lower the number in intervals of 3 or 5, or raise it by said amount of it is to fast.

Also you may want to change the frequency in the move event menu.  Make it lower.  If you do that properly you may not need to play around with wait commands as much.

Yeah, it still moves really fast like it is glitched. On Saturday I will post the event I am using.
