Movement question....

Ahoy! I'll get to the point as I usually do...

In games like Street Fighter and the Sailor Moon fighting games, when you move up, the characters face the same direction [say I face right, and press up, the character keeps facing that direction, but appears to be walking upwards] Now, my question is... would that look right in a game like an RPG? Like a normal game that you can make with RPG Maker without scripts... because that style of walking seems kind of appealing to me.
 
Yes, is possible and easy.
Create a map event on Auto-Start with a Wait command (99 frames) and a common event call.
Next make the common event (in Automatic-Start) and insert a " IF the UP key is pressed Move player forward" , " IF the LEFT button is pressed Turn player 90 on left" "wait 1 frame", " IF the RIGHT button is pressed Turn player 90 on right", "wait 1 frame"
 
Umm, lol I was thinking more along the lines of making my sprites look like theyre moving up, but still face left or right, I thought that worked just as good XD But I'll give that a shot as soon as I re-order RPG XP
