Mountain Scene - Done With GIMP

Hey everyone, I just picked up the Program GIMP today and after messing with it and watching a few tutorials I came out with this scene.  I know its deffinately not anything to special but I wanted to know what people though of it... x]

At first glance, it looked like a level 14 wizard casting bolting from atop a giant pile of dryer lint.

The textures on the mountains is way off.

Oh, and what is that blue thing in the corner supposed to be?

After a closer look, this is supposed to be a "Top-down" view of mountains, and the texture looks right to me. It seems this is having some perspective issues, however. Is the lightning bolt supposed to be coming from the sky?

=P Yeah, I just kinda through a bunch of stuff in there at the end like the lightning.

And the blue smudge in the corner is supposed to be a lake but its textured kinda.. yeah.

:shock: So it is top down. Well, despite that, I believe my comment now holds a different kind of criticism: If someone can look at it, and think that it's from an entirely different perspective, well... Yeah.

I'd say it's because the clouds(?) are only at the top of the picture. It gives the impression that you're looking from the front, not the top. Or maybe I'm just weird like that!
