Mist effect?

Do I need a special weather system program to enable a mist effect? Like, I want to put lots of mist on a map that's supposed to be inside a waterfall. I noticed there's this "Fog" thing on the database for like tilesets or something. But I'm not sure how to use it. And I'm not sure if it's what I'm looking for either.

If I need a weather-type of system, can someone please direct me to a good one?

I depends on what you're trying to do. A 'fog' is a static image that tiles over the map. It can move, but it only shifts linearly. If you're looking for a 'swirling' effect, then that would require a custom script, or
possibly an animation.

To see how the fogs work, set the "Fog Graphic" for a tileset you are using, then test play the game.
Choose a few different fogs, and change the parameters to see if you can get what you're looking for.

Then take a look at the fog graphics in the \Graphics\Fogs folder in the RTP (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Enterbrain\RGSS\Standard) to see how they're set up.

Be Well
