Minty's Spriting Attempts

Hey, I'm new to all of this, so my spriting isn't that good... And on top of that, the only art program I have is paint. DX But do you think this is any good?

Criticism greatly appreciated!

First off paint is fine for spriting, especially for rmxp. This is good for someone starting off, you've got a good grasp of RTP styled shading. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the shading on the top seems slightly off at points. Possibly pillow shading(scroll down to the blue area) Try to edit it a little if possible, but all together I'd say its a great sprite.

I tried changing the shading on the top a bit, but I'm not sure I got it quite right... How's this?

I'm not too thrilled about the color choices. They don't seem to compliment each other very well and they're a little bright.

What part of the sprite did you sprite yourself? The head and skirt look like they came from the standard charset.

The head I got off of civilian 17 and recolored the hair ties. I copied her skirt onto the female rtp template and recolored it blue. The top and belt I did myself.

Should I change the colors?

I suggest playing around with the colors and perhaps create a couple different variations.

you should try avoiding pure colours, and pure blacks and whites. They look too strong and will clash with the rest of the image.
You should also take care of the random pixels that sometimes appear in your sprite.
and the perspective in rtp *runtimepackage* sprites is slightly from above *check how the clothing and boots look.
