Ahh! I've finally gotten RMVX and I am re continuing work on this game. There will be massive graphical changes in V1.0 - that's a whole .7 up from the current version! V1 will include:

  • New Graphics for the Select Character Screen, Winning a Level and Losing a Level
  • Control stat removed. Sorry. It was never even actually ever implemented.
  • A better Stage Selection Screen.
  • Enth is NOW unlocked at the beginning
  • One new character!

Imagine in your town, a massive mine has been found and excavated.  In the mines, a person goofs around on the minecarts, riding them at top speed. This eventually becomes the sport of Minecarting. In Minecarting, cash is lined up upon the tracks and you have to pick them up and advance to the finish. Sounds easy, right?

WRONG!

Peril comes from every corner: To the very unexpected traps, the walls you'll crash into and the pits you'll fall down.

  • Hold down the way you want to turn when turning!
  • Press "W" for a short time to speed up one level; Hold it to go up a lot.

  • 12 Characters: Eight of them unlockable.
  • Upgradeable Carts.

  • 104 Levels: 26 Easy, 26 Medium,  26 Hard, 26 Expert

If the demo contained two levels in a harder difficulty, I'd get the new demo.

Otherwise, I'm sure its pretty much the same.

Although, I thought it was pretty freakin fun.

Anyway, I listened to xephyr14. I made a "select difficulty" screen...Only Medium and Easy works though, and there's only one level each, but I think it's good to see. You have to play through the first four "tutorial" levels to get to it though, and after those tutorial levels, if you die, the penalties are MUCH harsher. And updated forum post  :smile:

-Almost forgot. The RTP was removed from this one.

I love the idea of using the RMs as a platform for short minigames. It's just awesome in so many ways, and the end results are usually more than I expect from the program.
I'm not sure how VX eventing goes, but I think it's a safe assumption that this sort of system would take skill to make. It looks pretty excellent so far! I'll be sure to play it when I get the chance.
 
This is not an update, these are just production screenies.

Man, everyone's loving the game, hehe. Glad people like it. I've been fixing up a few bugs by looking at each event in the game, I've even added some new items. Feast your eyes on these screenies:

This is the shop for Medium difficulty. If you didn't know, Medium is the fire world.
Easy = ICE
Medium = Fire
Hard = ..Regular Cave..
Expert = The Cave of Dimentions

The next two-level update is coming around nicely; for the levels after the tutorial levels, I have made a level selection system, and I'm adding the HEAD ASPLODE thing (I still think it's freakin' funny).

Anyway, for some more information. The next medium level is done; I'm just starting on the next easy level and then I'll update.

! How did you guys like the new levels? And what were they like after you picked up the items?
 
What a great idea!  The 2D carting reminds me of the "Big Thunder Mountain" stage in Capcom's <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventures_in_the_Magic_Kingdom">"Adventures in the Magic Kingdom"</a> for NES.  I loved that game... all the levels were rides/attractions at Disneyland.  Anyways, nice job, it's good to see inventive stuff like this!
 
Massive. Production. Screenshot. Update!!![/u]

    Since I bought RMVX, I've been making some massive overhauls to this game - for the better! I posted some stuff in the first post at the top. Make sure to check it out.

      I'll post some screens of the new features when my internet stops being slow again. In the meantime, make sure to comment on these new ideas. The character selection screen is similar to Mario Kart 64. The new screen for winning and losing is a box-type popup that is green if you win and red if you lose.

I've actually tried this out some, you need to really specify controls, I still don't understand how to make it turn at the correct time, cause i'll be spamming or even holding the key when I get there and it does nothing, as well "W" makes you go at level 5 speed which is the only way i was able to get past level 2, I'm real confused about the controls, so a bit of help in the right direction would be awesome.

You can hold down to turn buttons when coming to a turn. Speed up with W is press once to go up a level, hold to go up multiple speed levels.

It's real easy to pick up once you get it.
 
BUMP!
New update is in! However, I couldn't include some of the things, including the new character, and the two new stages. However, I WAS able to include the new win and lose screen and select character screen. Also, some aesthetic improvements have been made with the use of fade in and fadeout, making the game look smother.
