Messages in Menu

I've written a menu and was wondering what code I would have to use to show a message, just like a regular event based message, when the user makes a choice in the menu.

Don't you mean what help does? But for your commands?

Window_Help only shows text on the screen I want a full message to come up with the user being able to close it etc.

I've tried

$game_temp.message_text = "message text goes here"

Which works, but the message doesn't display until after the menu has closed.

Don't worry about it i've solved it myself. Problem is resolved.
