Let's not pussy foot around; Peta has made a short flash game in the vein of the Cooking Mama titles. They've done so, in an attempt to display the unethical treatment of Turkeys since it's almost Thanksgiving. However Peta's amoral and unethical approach to the problem, as usual, has done nothing but encourage people to laugh and not give a shit.

I should note that I am very strongly for the ethical treatment of animals. My sister and I have done countless hours of volunteer work, and I used to work part-time at an animal rescue hospital when I was in high school. That said, I think Ingrid Newkirk is the anti-christ, but that's another rant for another thread.

Now, let's talk about the game.

In the game, like Cooking Mama (or what I know about it,) you play a violent and fucking hot MILF "Mama" in a variety of minigames that involves ripping out organs, cutting heads and cracking eggs filled with blood. Each task must be done in a short amount of time, and the faster you complete the task the higher your score, blah blah blah. You also get little "facts" from Mama about how turkeys are treated poorly in shitty factory farms. And you can unlock nice wallpapers and stuff to "shock your co-workers."

I hope Mejesco picks up on this and sues the shit out of Peta (because fair use can only go so far, and I think bloodstained Majesco bowls crosses the line into defamation somewhere.) Apparently Peta's "message" was to try and make a vegetarian version of Cooking Mama because they felt there wasn't enough veg recipes in the original game. Despite the fact that they're already making a vegetarian sequel long before Peta started making this game... But I guess that's not enough for them. We gotta tell (read: send annoying angry letters) Majesco that the original game is too anti-animal (WTF?) and that they need to work on that veg game... That they're already doing anyway...

Fucking tossers...

Actually, upon rereading the original post (warning: it also has an embedded version of the game) I found out that Peta actually is targeting this problem from the wrong angle and is looking like a bunch of pricks. Actually... No, playing the game it's pretty clear Peta wants to guilt trip people into going vegan as per usual. And retardedly they've decided to attack Majesco Games as a smoke screen for their annoying antics.

and the final bird was like all festering with boils and had some feathers attached, which is pretty funny

when you win, mama starts cooking with tofu instead and she gets this face like she just had the best orgasm of her life, then says she's turned over a new leaf and serves tofurky for thanksgiving.

apparently they are going to put 25 'vegetarian-friendly' recipes in the new cooking mama. thats nearly half of the total recipes (51).

I like PETA's vibe (BE KIND TO FUZZY THINGS I can't really see anything wrong with that (it is REALLY GROSS the conditions commercial chickens live in, I for one am an omnivore and accept that for me to eat things have to die, but I'd definitely prefer they not suffer beforehand)) but I'm always a little pissed off with their execution. I can't help but wonder if they'd be more effective as a protest group if they focused less on shock and more on dialogue.

then again their tactics got KFC of canada to edge towards treating their livestock better (and add vegetarian options but HEY there are hippie street cafes that serve much better vegetarian stuff than chains (if you're ever in edmonton on whyte avenue hit up cafe mosaic it's a vegetarian joint with some really good food and since you're on whyte avenue anyway hit me up and I'll pay for the meal!)) so!

kfc doesnt own livestock. they pay certain farms/ranches for livestock wholesale, and what they say probably AFFECTS these wholesalers, but if you're touring the farms of north america you're never going to find the O.KFC Corral.

like i said, peta has their priorities out of whack. they're not going to turn the entire world vegetarian, thats a stupid fucking cause. no, what they need to focus *all* their effort on is the shady ranches who cut corners on animal welfare and convincing lobbyists and govm't officials to observe animal rights.

but no instead they just visit celebrity meetings to throw blood on the dumbasses who wear fur and commission copyright-infringing flash games featuring some lady destroying a turkey and cracking fetal-stage chicken eggs and trying to convert people to their beliefs like a fuckin catholic.

this is true, but they're operating in the already-commercialized world -- so long as they're not actively impeding improved quality of life for the little guys, I figure it's something worth doing.

I love how they make the delicious turkey (where the fuck did you buy those eggs and why did you give up on removing the organs when it still had intestines hanging out?!) look repulsive but the "Tofu Turkey" (which is more like a tofu dome anyway) looks all great lol.

Also, apparently cooking meat makes you very angry. Who would of known.

i played through the entire thing (was pretty fun) but I know that killing and eating a bird is nowhere near as gross as this thing purports.  You just bleed off the blood while he's flopping around, and all the organs are lined up neat and colorful on his insides.  You put on gloves, yank them out, (after defeathering which believe it or not does not produce bloody feathers), and you have your chicken.  You don't saw the head off after you bake it.  That's jsut barbarous.
