This is either an April Fool's gag or the most bizarre pairing of Mario & Sonic I could have imagined. It still makes me feel all tingly inside to see them in the same game, but I was hoping it would be something... different. Maybe a 2D platformer? I dunno. If this is in fact real, maybe this means Sonic's chances in Smash Bros. Brawl are pretty high... I have the sneaking suspicion that this is a hoax, however...

EDIT: On second thought, the usage of the Beijing Olympics logo costs money, and I doubt that Sega would go through the trouble of paying money for a prank. That, and all the other press releases about this thing have me believing this is real. I hope it doesn't suck...

Hoax prolly, simply because Sonic would automaticly win running and Mario would automaticly win jumping. What's the sense of an Olympics game if most outcomes are already to be predicted? Hell, unless they'd screw up the characters this'll fail badly.

That seems to rule out a hoax. It could be fun. Generally olympic promotional games kinda suck, but maybe they'll break the mold this time.

Somewhat OT but I have to laugh at this statement.

I can see how they can try to sell it that way, but I doubt that playing the Wii over any other console would be a healthier choice. O_o

ew... This makes me sad... Nintendo can't think of anything else? I REALLY don't like sonic.... Ever since Shadow the Hedgehog came out. The Classic games were way better.... at least in my opinion. I am looking forward to him in Brawl though for some odd reason. I hope Young Link stays in the character slots...

It's all over the internet, and I'm going to have to say, that people have been awaiting something like this for a while... But I can't really see Mario and Sonic fitting together well. However, if Nintendo can make cleaning the house fun, they can make this fun....
