Marathon World is a small modification of Marathon Infinity on the Aleph One engine.
The aim is to bring Marathon's multiplayer mode up to date and on-par with multiplayer games like Unreal Tournament and Quake 3.
The game is standalone and is playable on Mac OS X, Linux and Windows 95-7.
Current list of achievable goals
* Weapons will be re-balanced
* Custom online maps to replace the original
* New textures and props
* HUD redesign to fit modern standards (XBLA HUD is temporary)
* HD sprites never seen in Marathon before such as grasses and plants
The future
* Different weapons and overall graphics
* Player sprite graphics re-drawn
As it is built on the Aleph One engine; Multiplayer is already fully playable, however, the master server requires a login if you would like an online player name.
Design principles for level archetecture will be Marathon/Halo inspired (Seeing as some of Halo 3's maps are just remakes of Marathon maps but with random props placed in the center, you could pretty much say in-door layouts based on Marathon, outdoors based on Halo)
