making cutscenes

Hey guys, I just joined this forum but i've been using XP for a little while now.

I've got one big problem during my "cutscenes" that I make though.
I've managed to get everything to work the way I want including animations, movement, sound effects, and everything, but my character is able to move during the cutscenes.

This totally ruins the cutscenes for the people who play the game and have the need to keep pressing buttons. Not only that but you can leave the room the cutscene is in entirely.

How do I make it so my character can't move during the custscene but can continue to move after.
 
Make it an Autostart rather than a parallel process.

Parallel Process does exactly what is says... runs parallel to other processes such as character movement.

When you want a cutscene to end, make the very last thing in an event a switch being turned on.

Then make a new page and have the conditions for this page as the switch you just turned on, that means that a blank page effectively stops the cutscene at the end.

Maybe try reading the tutorial on "the basics" in my signature.  It may be long but you'll get a solid overview of the program.
