Making a Good Game

Introduction

You're probably wondering "what the hell is this about?.." well here's your answer, recently I was on Youtube and came upon RMXP Game reviews and I wanted to share them with you and giving out a few pointers I feel should be expressed greatly to prevent stupid, crappy games like in the videos be out to the public...

WARNING: SOME OF THE VIDEOS (MOST OF THE IF NOT ALL) HAVE FOUL LANGUAGE!

In this video is a game called Savior Sword. Game creator is Pokemaniac.
This game repeats a lot of tileset items, flowers, stones whatever you get the point.

It (the game) also has un-realistic objects/events in it. (The cat on the roof. lol)

It also has barely any tileset items in some areas (blank, not filled in. Ex: The city.)

Misc.:  The teleport event teleports him from the house door to outside ON the mailbox.

I don't think I could have said it any better. I guess I'll try anyway. Is this a review thread or a tutorial? You are right though. Cats on a roof! What was he thinking!? Cats hate heights anyways. I did lawl. I did...

Watching that video is a delicious slice of nerd pie though.

He also reviewed 'Legend of Vruim', without a doubt the worst RMXP game in the history of EVER.

That said, though, this might be better off in GD.

It seems like it's just a thread to teach you to learn from other people's mistakes. So that when your game is done, hilarity at your expense doth not ensue.

I, as an 11 year old, am really annoyed by such a sentence. Stuff like this depresses me.  :down: Back on topic, there's also an Orion X review by this guy on youtube.

Don't worry about it - alot of the game's problems came from the fact that virtually all my RPG-Playing Experience came from Pokemon - just look at the mapping in them, and compare them to mine - well, actually, my city was pretty bad...
