Making a cutscene with pictures?

Hi guys.

A friend and I are trying to create a game in RMVX and are trying to think of ways to make our game a little more unique. An idea I had was, instead of showing cutscenes with in-game graphics, show cutscenes as pictures with textboxes over them. It might be a little difficult to understand what I'm getting at at first but until I can show you a decent example just think of Phoenix Wright. This is the best example I can think of but it's still not quite what I envisage. Im thinking Show pictures to show the cutscene and showing textboxes as a parralel process would work. However, I'm more involved with plot and art than with eventing and scripting so...
I'm working on an image to show what I'm talking about but if anyone can understand the problem then their help will be greatly appreciated.

It shouldn't be too difficult. "Show Picture" and "Move Picture" are the two commands you want to use. On a blank map, you can make the player invisible and display all the pictures in an Autorun event. Then use "Show Text" for the dialogue.

If I'm not getting the problem, though, just tell me. Good luck with it nashie1 :thumb:

Will that show both picture and dialogue simultaneously? If so then I think you've understood the problem perfectly. Sounds about right but I don't think you mentioned this issue (unless I misread the post.) I'll get round to testing it out when I get the time/can be bothered. Thank you Regi.
