magic skills

Erm..okay I am really new in RPG Maker XP.I've figured out a few things in it.But here is my question.

In RPG XP,can you buy skills in shops?And can't we buy magic scrolls? Eg. Flame scroll, lightning scroll..etc.
And as for skills,
eg.Plague skill,Lightning skills and things like that?
Sorry if I'm not specific.Just tell me and I'll edit my post.I'm new here so I really don't know much.

Make an item named Scroll whatever. Make a common event that looks like this:

Once that is done, go back to the item and set its common event to the one you just made.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: If you want all actors to be able to learn things, you would have to check if they're in the party and if they've already learned it.
Usually this would suit better in a script.

Don't forget to remove the "Magic Scroll" item after teaching it to the character.

As far as I know, if it's set to consumable, without an effect but still with a common event, it will get removed anyway. So make sure you turn consumable to No to prevent it from disappearing if you're planning on having a choice for characters with a cancel button.

You could also use a script but I wouldn't suggest getting into scripts right away since you're still fairly new to the program.

You could also do a search on "Skill Shop".  I think there at least 7 of them.

I tried the threads there.Most of the skill demos are dead.I mean it says 'html not found and things like that.And I really want to make skills and sell them in shops for my characters.
