Luna Sprites

[Stupid Penguin]

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if I could get some feedback on some concept sprites I am making for my game
(They're so that when I hire a graphics guy, he can make sprite sheets outta em)

As of now, I only have one.
It's of my game's Villian, Bruja (Bru-hah)

I'm not the best spriter, but I'd like to see what I'm doing right and wrong.

TOO black. You need more grey to contrast it.
Actually you need to shade it better completely, because it looks flat on the bottom in comparison to the flesh.

I cannot shade for crap. Every tutorial I've ever read hasn't helped.
And I call myself an artist... :'(
