Looking for some help with site/forum templates.

Hiya, im currently in the middle stages of making a site based around indie gaming and clan gaming. we have a ok base and most of our problems are now based around putting our own stamp on site and forum with lots of pre defined sizes and restrictions. if you think you can help me out please let me know. these are not the domains that will be used when its all finished

Simply due to phpBB's sizes and restrictions, I never used it. If you want a good forum board style, I would recommend SMF. It's free, and much more customizable than phpBB. You can keep all your current posts and such with a simple backup.

If you want to put a little bit of money out there, get Invision Power Board or vBulletin. I use vB on my site, and though I'm using a premade skin (more because I'm too lazy to make my own than anything) it's great because you can make it your own so much easier.

yea i know about smf but its not for us. as we are good at coding in php and we are linking our site and forum together very well.. we have the skills to make our own skins when it comes to coding them its just when it comes to the graphics

So why are you using PHPbb? SMF allows people who are 'good at coding' way more freedom.

cause the person that hosts the site for us knows more about php and its what he wants to work with. i know nothing about php so im not going to argue with him lol.

would love to get people to help me launch a site and i would pay for the hosting and domain its just i dont have the contacts.
