Looking for guidance.

I'm not exactly requesting that a script be made, but I need some help.

My game is going to have only one man in it. No party members, just one guy. I don't want random encounters in my game. The way it's going to work is that you'll be walking around and you'll see the enemies walking around. Some enemies are passive (they don't attack you) and some are aggressive (they will chase you). When an enemy makes contact with you, you battle them. I don't want a screen transition into the crappy looking default system. I want the character to be standing there on the map, where he made contact with the enemy. Then it would work like a regular battle, turn based, only no transition into a random encounter.

There's so many battle system scripts on here that it's hard for me to find what I need. I need it to be focused on a one-man party, or easily customizable to make it one-man oriented. I have pretty much zero knowledge in Ruby and everything, so I'm a noob. Can anyone hook me up with a script that fills my needs and explain to me how to use it? Thank you!

Well I think what you'd be best with, is an ABS, the only problem is that it won't be turn based, but you can set enemies so if you go within say, 5 squares of them, they will chase and attack you. If this is what you'd like, search ABS in the search box at the top of the site.
 
For no random battles, just don't enter any on the map properties dialog.

For the passive & active enemies. Set the passive enemies Trigger to "Action Button"
(you have to attack the enemy), and set the active enemies Trigger to "Event Touch"
(and probably the Autonomous Movement to "Approach")

So far, I've only seen one 'Turn Based ABS' system, and it hasn't been released for public use. (yet).
It will probably be released once the game is published, but that could be a while.

Thank you for all your replies! I think what I'm going to do for now is find a simple ABS. There's so many, though. If anyone has the time, can they find me a simple one that is easy to set up but works well? Thank you! I will search as well, don't worry.
 
I tried that system, but I can't use skills very well. It's more hack and slash oriented.

I need a system that lets me use magic and stuff. How hard would it be for somebody to create an ABS for me, which is turn-based, but also works like an ABS?

Alright, I need help from a scripter(s). I have nothing to offer as "pay", but you can guarantee that when my game is completed, you are going to be the first person credited, and when anyone tells me they like my game, I will inform them that it's all thanks to the scripters.

There are two things that I need right now. First one is, a battle system. I don't see it as very complicated really. I think it will take time, but it can't be as complicated as all these ABS's. I'm going to edit a picture and show you what I want:

Now, basically, what would happen, is you'll be walking around. You can choose to attack a monster, or an aggressive monster will attack you. That menu will come up and you will choose your attack method. If you hit escape, you can run, but the monster will chase you. If anyone is interested in programming this for me, please PM me!

Now, for the menu.

What I'm looking for is something a bit different. Since my game is DeviousMUD/RuneScape inspired, I want a menu to come up at the corner of the screen like this:
(so pressing escape will bring this menu up, UNLESS you can make it so it's always there and once you hit escape, it activates it so you can shift through the options)

Here's the equipment menu. Basically, it shows what your character has equipped, and you can select the "Change" option, which will bring you to the regular equip screen.

And then the Save and Quit options are just like regular RMXP.
