Hey there, community! My name is Aero. Username is Aero Lowe but let's not care about that right now.
So I've been working with RPG Maker 2003 for a few years now. I am developing a Sonic fangame, but since most of them tend to be really, really bad, I'm not going to say much about mine until I'm sure it's good. I have basic experience with code, but I've also fiddled with a bit of Unity, Game Maker, a bit of Multimedia Fusion 2, and Construct (looking at Construct 2, recently found out about that on TV Tropes). Unity is quite the advanced program, so I haven't touched that much, and I've just looked into half of the included tutorial of MMF2, and I'll probably finish the tutorial but I'm not worrying as it is pretty similar to Game Maker. I believe that Game Maker has more functions though; however, I've seen the same done with MMF2, so I'm not that sure. But enough rambling about differences. Oh, and I've only gotten through the tutorial of Game Maker and fiddled with it for a while, and as for Construct, I've messed around a lot with it, and while it looks pretty simple, it also looks pretty unorganized. From what I've seen of Construct 2, it looks much more better. I'll probably get around to doing that tutorial for it soon.
By the way, I'm not your run-of-the-mill RM2k3 programmer; I'm not advanced, but I know my way around switches and variables and labels and such, but I'm not the professional on non-RPG's developed in RM2k3. Or any custom engines in it, for that matter.
You know this place called ICU Gigasoft? Over here at http://www.icugigasoft.com/portal.php? The one that created the popular Mario RPG fangame, the Seven Sages? Well, I got directed here by them for scripts and such for RPG Maker, and I rarely come back here to check around for any other useful resources. Not a good start, but hey, who can you blame? There's so much good stuff here.
I hope to get out of the forum the one thing I need most: criticism. Well that, and a nice community. I want to make my games the best I can, so I'm going to need more than just a few members. Also, I need some nice members. It's gotta be good criticism. Otherwise, I'll just end up being discouraged and worse off than when I came here!
Creative talents? Uh, well, I like music. And art. But I can't make any professional music or art. In fact, I can barely make music, and my art is decent, at best. Also, Kirby's. I love drawing them.
Hobbies?
Um, game creation? Well, I do plan to move on after from RPG Maker in general after my RPG is finished. I might move on to Game Maker, or Construct (2, if it's as better as it looks), or another one of those simple, yet powerful game engines so I can make stuff, you know, other than RPG's. I can't keep using RPG Maker forever, right? Also, platformers in RPG Maker = Not the best idea.
Music? Um, I'm not big on that, but trance and electronica are pretty neat. Also, check out NemesisTheory's works over at Newgrounds. She's the best. I'm serious. She has so much awesome tracks it's not even funny.
Sorry to say, but I'm pretty much in high school level education. I might decide to get a serious programming job later on, who knows? Or maybe become a doctor. I'm quite interested in those two areas.
tl;dr So hey there, and um, I hope to have fun here? I guess?
Why are there no suggestions for conclusions?
