Lighting particle effects

Hello everyone

I had a quick question... I've seen some rmxp games where an effect is used to make lights look as though they glow.  Does anyone know how this is done?  I'd love to implement it into my game if possible.  Thank-you!

This also works, if it is more of what you are looking for...

You can actually mix both of them if you want, just use the particle engine that Mimi linked you to instead of the one that I have in there.  (the one she linked you to is newer ^_^)

Thank-you Kraft, I think I might try a mix of the two like you suggested.  I appreciate the comments that you made in your demo, it explains everything very well!
