only on the red tiles are a little bit pilow because theyre under the "stone" tiles ;)

so...NO PILOW XD

Well im no pixel expert, but to me it looks like you need a wider gradation in your colours, they all seem to blend into one another as it is. You need brighter reds and darker greys perhaps.

It looks like a sword with the tip facing down. A 'Golem' normally stands on 2 feet, unless its a pile of rocks held together with magic... Also, unless you examine it a bit more, you can't see the face.

Needs to be more curvey...its been pixelled rather flat and boringly....work on the curves based to the texture of the golem, also as said Pillow Shading really spoils it...try and work on your light based upon the textures so it looks much better.

I understand why mascarpone made that comment, but if you improve on what i mentioned you will have a rather sexy golem. Good job so far!

It's less Golum and more Wall painting if you ask me.

I've actually seen golems made in similar shapes many times... It certainly doesn't look like a wall painting...

I think it's a finely unique creature design and quite worthy of praise.

My only critique would be to agree that you need a higher level of difference between colors used for shading... Maybe trying a little brighter color for highlights would help... Lava is really bright if you look at it... This looks maybe more like a blood golem to me?

I played with it just a little in photoshop to give you a hint as to what I'm suggesting... It's only auto-anti-aliased and a 5 min job but I bet you could do something great with it if you highlight it yourself... This was just to show you what I'm talking about...
Mine then yours beside it for comparison:

Just try to make some more difference between the colors in your highlights and shadows ... that should help it look more like there is vibrant fire coming from behind the rocky parts of the lava... Look at a picture of actual lava and you'll see you need to make it very broken up... Lava

I LOVE the design of this! I hope my suggestion helps you!

oh year arsieiuni your version rocks XD

Thanks!

Though I would definitely have to give higher props to Kale_Ryuu's version O_O Nice! That's exactly what I was talking about! Making it all firey! But Seeing as I know nothing about how to animate these spritey type objects, I would never have thought of how to do that! Looks uber!

Don't let anyone tell you your design isn't good, BlogDog. It is. It's a very cool looking golem and I'm very happy if my suggestion or anyone else's has helped you improve your vision. But the initial idea was still /good/. I applaud!
