What episode does Itachi attack the leaf and is confronted by kakashi? In the episode itachi puts kakashi under an illusion of some sort, i forgot what happened (which is why i want the episode number) so i cant give anymore details.

Do you mean the time he and Kisame invaded the village (after the Third's death?) and they fought Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi (Kakashi jumps in later) first? Well then, that is episode/s "Return of the Morning Mist", "Eye to Eye: Sharingan vs Sharingan!" and "Jiraiya: Naruto's Potential Disaster!".
