So I wrote this on Facebook:
"I like creating stories, and characters. But why is writing frustrating me? I do have a wish to see my name on a book someday, yet I struggle so much."
And responded to a comment like this:
"I used to be able to write "books" in the past without stopping. I had at least 3 stories I could write forever about and actually have more than one chapter. Nowadays I quit upon the first chapter. So it can't be that I hate writing, right? I think it's because I haven't found something that clicks with me. Sometimes I wonder if using those old storylines would really help me stick to something."
Just thinking out loud about me and writing basically.
Star's advice was: "make games forever" simply because I told him I enjoyed working on my side project.
What all this means is that I have a passion:
To create.
Why not use this passion as a career choice someday - or a side-career choice?
He told me if I enjoy making games (granted I've only been using RM) then make games. If I like them more right now than sitting here writing ANYTHING then make games.
I just have this feeling I'll be using RM until the community dies.
Then what?
I could then just write stories until something interesting happens. Even if I can't finish a single chapter.
I could make a comic, even if my art skills aren't ready yet.
I just want to do anything that allows me to create.
I remember having a plaid binder just FULL of ideas for games I wanted to make. I had it for years and continued to expand in it until last year. Most of it was for RPGs, but it did not have to be. I had lists of weapons, armor, spells, abilities, items, monsters, etc. I loved the thing.
Whenever... Whenever I made a character or a story, I wanted to turn it into a game. I had my partners help me create poses and animations for their characters...
Of course, back then I did not have RPG Maker or anything the like.
I feel like... Game-making is what I want to do. And no, I don't want to join a big company ("I want to be an artist for Square someday!") I want to be in charge and I want to use my concepts. And friends of course.
