Just another sketch...

Well, I drew another so called "main character" that's going to be in my "game"... (sigh, I really have to make up my mind...  :dead

The reason is because the previous tries (making the main character) were either just "recolored" or "uncool enough"...

So, here's the sketch:

Note:
The template and basis was taken from Luke fon Fabre of Tales of the Abyss.
The jacket style and charisma was taken from Leon (Squall) of KH.

I'll color it in and will update it once it's done.

Oh, and his name is Fenrir Vanargand. :grin:

Very nicely drawn, but I dislike the outfit it makes me question the sexuality of the character, though thats just my opinion

Well his abs are HUGE. When people build their muscles up to that size it tends to be spread out more, but he has a rather weedy pair of arms there. Assuming he'll be wielding a weapon of some kind it makes even less sense!

Well that dude looks freaky too; just because it's commercial doesn't make it correct! And punching monsters on a regular basis would no doubt build up some muscle, but I don't think you get abs like that from just running around.

I can turn into a cat, so my legs and thighs are really buff.

My friend turns into a bird. His lats and shoulders are pretty dece, but his bis and tris are kind of small compared to his forearms.

In short, it doesn't really make much sense from a design standpoint that someone automatically gets great abs if they can turn into a werewolf. Maybe it's make more sense if you just said that he works out. If someone's predominantly a fistfighter, it's not that strange to assume that they'd place a little extra emphasis on keeping themselves in top physical shape.

Anyhow, what really I should have done, was not copy Luke's (Red haired dude) huge abs, but instead corrected it and made it smaller, or rather made his arms buff as well...

Meh, I'm already coloring it so... I'm not sure whether to redraw the entire thing again...

Or I could just erase the lines of the abs and make it smaller... Hmmm... Let me see what I can do...

In case anyone of you is up for editing his abs too, go for it.

I liked your other character design better. This one seems too flashy.
As for the design I like the crossed chains but wouldn't that hurt with the chains going under the belt rubbing against his skin?
I guess game character's outfits don't have to be practical. Ever see Paine's thief outfit from FFX-2? She's wearing high heels! What kind of thief wears high heels!?

Here's how I colored him so far. No shadings yet. Just plain flat coloring. Plus some parts are still uncolored (white ones).

It looks good so far, I agree that the abs could still be toned down even more, but uuggghghghghghghghhgh, whythe half-shirts? I realize it's in anime left and right, but what sensible person has seriously worn a half-shirt since 1981??

I ain't saying it looks gay (gay people are sensible), but it just looks so effeminate.

You know, before I even saw the Luke fon Fabre reference I thought your art was an alluding to Kosuke Fukishima! Turns out im correct, haha. It looks good so far, youve seriously captured his style, but it looks like a cross between Luke and Sora from KH2.

Sorry this is completely off-topic but this statement confused me just a bit. I'm no artist at all so I could be wrong, but are you trying to imply that Tidus is the only one that could show his muscles?

It looks a lot better now, and it's kind of funny that his pose is pretty much the exact opposite of Lukes XD. Anyway I'm interested in seeing the finished version.

not yet done, but im putting it aside for now because of plagarism. i copied the EXACT pose of luke in another pic, and saying it is my creation without crediting the actual artist, Kosuke Fukishima. im truly sorry about it and i didn't mean it. =(

so, i redesigned a new one without copying from anything, but still basing on Kosuke Fukishima-san's art style:

*took out because of the camel toe comment. editing...*
