Jump?

I am in need of what I hope is a simple script.
I need a script that will make the character jump so many spaces in whatever direction he is facing when the action key is pressed.And it needs to be compatable with Der VVolfmans
8 direcctional movement script(if posible). Im not sure of the exact space amount but make it 3 for now or just tell me how to change it.

EDIT: Maybe this can even be done with variables?

There's a tutorial on how to do this with events but not with 8-directional movement that I've seen.
