Its war! (Help in Boss Show up) [RESOLVED]

Basically in my game, I have come to a point where the boat is being invaded and I have the events set up as if there fighting one another but what im trying to do is after I kill all the threats (about 5 battles) the boss shows up. How do I go about doing this?

And I havnt had a chance to check this out yet, but if I get a member to leave the party then rejoin, would he still be the same level or is there a script needed for that?
 
Part 1:  You could have each fight add 1 to a variable, and then when the variable reaches 5, have the boss battle event be triggered.  Pretty straightforward.

Part 2:  There's a little checkbox in the "Add party member" command:  Initialize Party Member.  If it's checked, when they join, they go to their starting stats.  If it isn't, they have whatever stats they had last.

What I would do here is to make a variable called " After every battle you win, make the variable increase by one.  Have your boss as an event that only shows up when the variable "Threats Defeated" is five or greater.  It should work, as I've done something similar of this in one of my games. 

As for the party member, they should stay the same provided they are the same actor as they were before they left.  For example, if Actor 02 -- Basil left the party, and then came back as the same Basil in the database slot 02, then he will be the same level.  If you're wanting the looks of that character to leave in the period they are absent from the party, then you can use the "Change Actor Graphic" command at the 3rd tab on the events page.  There is also a button for class changing, as well as name changing.

Thank you, I was not entirely sure on Variables so I didnt want to fiddle with that yet, course now it does make more sense.

Main reason I had character leaving, as they board the ship I wanted the party members to be around the ship talking and sense im using the catapillar system, not right to have them following behind AND around the ship. Thank you both. :)
