Item names?

Heya, all.
This mayn't go here, but I have no idea where else it'd go.
Item names, one of the least important yet most noticed parts of the game.
And how I absolutely suck at naming.

Cures and various items are no problem.
It's more along the lines of H(ealth)P(oints) and M(agicka)P(oints) restorative items.
I'm a little against the whole tier potion names and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? :\
Any help would be IMMENSELY appreciated.

you want help naming potions? And not like the usual fantasy potion, high poition, x-potion deal? Really, you could name them anything without a general idea to follow...

Well first change your name sig or whatever.
Second, check out other games to get an idea of what they call their items. Maybe even go outside of rmxp.

Oh yea and this is just my opinion, but I feel that if their are a thousands of types of a health potion and magic, etc. then it is a little overwhelming, I'd stick with three in my opinoin, but of course that's just me do whaterver you want to do, besides it's your game!

Try using real names of gems, herbs, plants, concretions, etc... with their previously conceived magical powers.
For example, Amaranth seeds increase stamina. (Blessed or magically enhanced increases effect)
Basil cures bites, poison, stings, and repels insects.

tankard of life, Bread, apple, blueberry, ham, maybe reall food items? thats really what mana was derived from in midevil lore  :thumb: maybe that helped alittle bit, add some realism instead of fake fantasy.

"Bandages" and the like. your restorative items dont HAVE to be potions. in fact the FF way of naming potions is rather cheesey. XD

Try fruits. I use fruits sometimes.
For example. An orange juice can cure a bit of health, a pineapple juice can cure a bit of mana, and a mango can revive an opponent. In some sort of magical item merging game or system, you can make a tropical juice! Which revives an ally and gives him 50% health, instead of the usual low amount.
