Isometric RTP Template
Created by JBrist
----------------------------------

Hey, I know that EVERYONE has been wanting an 8 Directional/Isometric Template for the RTP, but not many people have found one, so I'm making one for the entire forum to use, at the minute it's not finished, and won't be for atleast another day, but I'd like this to stay open so people can ask me any questions what it will be like.

Progress---
Facing DownLeft Still - 100%
Facing Down (Moving DownLeft) - 100%
Facing Left (Moving UpLeft) - 0%
Facing Right (Moving DownRight) - 100%
Facing Up (Moving UpLeft) - 0%

Progress Images---

Edits ---

The first row is done and working perfectly, just need to edit it a little more.

I've slightly changed the movement of the legs (Made them bend a little more), and did as Gearpunk suggested and kept the movement of the arms same as the RTP, so now the whole arm moves and not just the elbow.

Testers Needed
@@@@

I need a few people to sprite onto this template and tell me how it moves ingame, if it works, then I will be happy, and will only have to worry about 3 more lines, hehe.

If you'd like to test it by spriting onto it, please say so.
Thanks.

Update---
I've made a Userbar for anyone who supports this template:

Yeah I know it's a little buggy, but it's still a WIP, I think it's because the head doesn't bob up and down like the normal Template, but I can fix that, and thanks for supporting this by getting the Userbar !.

Just a question, would you use this when it's finished ? and can you make a quick sprite onto it please and test it out, because it might not bug as much, like, give it some armour or something, afterall, this is just the base template, so once it's been built onto, it should be alot more stable.

Yeah, at the minute he's still in early stages but once I've finished the whole template, I'm going to redo him and edit out all of the flaws and errors.

Wow, it's like.. an RMXP Habbohotel! :) Very cute, my only criticism would be that he doesn't bend his knees when the sprite walks. Perhaps a slight tilt in the angle when your spriting the legs, or even a darker shade.

Actually, he does, but not enough, I tried making it more but it looks really awkward, if you look at the second frame, the leg going backwards has a bend at the ancle, which is the foot movement, and further up near the top, theres a slight curve, I wanted it to bend but not look like:

Because it looked really silly, so I just made it a smooth curve.

Also, on the last frame, the leg behind is actually bent, and you can see the end of it behind the first leg.
The only thing wrong with this pose is the front leg bends the wrong way, and it looks wierd, so I'm going to change this when the final product is made.

I suggest you have all his arm move, rather than just the elbow joint. That's the way the default goes, right?

At any rate, this is looking alright so far. We needed one of these.

I assume you're going to make a female template to match, after this one is completed?

Jason

Sorry to say but I'm not making a female to match, as the original RTP Template doesn't have a female version, however, if it did, then I would recreate it.

Will post in a minute.

Also, can someone post me a script where the diagonal movements use the characterset as it would help me test this out, thanks.

Argh ! Now you've shown me that I have to make it Isometric too :(

Can't you just settle with this one ? Lots of people have made females using the default template anyway.

<cough cough>
But you're the one who committed to this. Do whatever you want. No one's going to stand over you cracking a whip, since you're already doing a big service to us RTP dudes.

Hey, everyone, I found something out, the Isometric one is 2 Pixels shorter than the normal stances, does this matter to any of you ? I don't know if it is, but I hope it isn't, lol.

Actually nevermind about this, I've found a way to make it taller without looking stupid.

Don't think I'll make anymore progress on this till tomorrow, it's 10:30 PM here and I got school tomorrow, but I might stay and have an extra 10 mins on it.

Okay, I got longer than I though, well anyway, let me show you how its improved now...
This will show the Old and New, the new one looks, in my opinion alot better, and theres more space to sprite on:

he flattens. his head looses it's depth, are u just scewing these? it looks allot like he's just been stretched and edited a little,

Jason

Awesome Bro

1. No I didn't stretch or scew it.
2. The head is just the same as the smaller version, just looks wierder because I added an extra pixel hieght onto the torso, arms, and legs, although, if I redo the head it should be okay.

no you're totally missing the point. his head loses some of its dimension, it doesn't look round it looks flat. He needs more skull.
