Import .gif images?

Is there a way you can import .gif images to rpg maker xp games? I have a .gif image that I want to be played during my intro, is there a way to do this? On the materialbase all I saw was .jpg .png and such things like that, no .gif. So is this possible?

Have you tried importing a .gif file into RMXP yet? If you have not you should try to do so. If that does not work then convert your image to a .jpg, .png, or .bmp file.

Well I do want a  GIF animation, but it might be possible with show picture and move picture? Like can your pictures be placed then slowly merge together?

Wouldn't need to do that much-- animation is just replacing one picture with another one.  This can work fine, but it is, by definition, a little clunky.

Well for example. You have an Earth and a Sun on one picture, made with paint. and you saved it. Then on another picture you show the sun creeping towards to earth. And on RPG Maker you put "Show Picture" EarthSUN. Then after a line of text, you do "Show Picture" SunMOVINGtoEARTH. Would that work out?

Sure... or you could do a picture of the sun and the solar system, and a picture of the Earth, and Show Picture for the background, and Move Picture for the Earth.  Do them as separate pieces and it's easier to animate.

Well that script, I dont really know how it works, I know where to put it, but not how it works. No instructions on the top. :/

Edit: Ok I translated it, I see the steps to it, but im just understanding the steps at all as far as to where to put the commands to do this.
