I'm stumped.

I looked for about 4 hours and didn't find anything that quite matched the issue I am having. What stumps me on this is that this WAS working just fine for over 3 weeks and then just stopped working.
The actual issue, is a simple treasure chest event that reads the player's class and then assigns them their starting equipment/items and then turns on a control switch.
The last time I tried starting a new game to do a play test it went through the starting sequence fine, and it got to the point where you open the chest. When the chest opens, it executes fine, until the point where the control switch turns on. Now it just freezes the game and displays an empty text box.
However, when I delete the control switch statement and try it again, it works just fine without freezing up (but obviously doesn't turn the switch on which defeats the purpose).

Any ideas?

There doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with the code-- if it was anything, I would have guessed it would be in the Conditional Branches.

This suggest to me that some other event may be affected by Switch 001.

Try changing it to a self-switch. That won't be affected by any other events.
